ERP Migration Services
ERP migration is a journey fraught with many risks. Much like when you’re climbing the Himalayas, it’s wise to have a SHERPA to guide your path. That’s why we are developing our SHERPA Migration Methodology to guide you through the migration process and substantially mitigate a variety of risks attendant to the migration process.
- Business Operational Risk
- The current PeopleSoft® installation supports key business processes fundamental to the organization’s day-to-day operations. Migration introduces the potential to break these processes, exposing the organization itself to danger.
- Financial risks
- Any migration project will be costly, both in time and money, potentially on the order of a reimplementation. In order to mitigate these risks, PeopleSoft® customers ready to migrate are looking to optimize the migration process along two key dimensions:
- Quality:
- Since the software supports key business processes, the job must be done well.
- Cost, in both time and money
- For most PeopleSoft® customers, migration is costly and the time required to complete the project diverts staff from planned strategic and tactical projects that will benefit the organization. Thus, costs associated with the migration project must be kept to a minimum.
Walking Stick provides innovative PeopleSoft® services and is developing a product suite to significantly automate the migration of legacy ERP systems to next generation ERP solutions. All services are delivered using our SHERPA Framework – providing sure footing for supporting today’s PeopleSoft® environment and a trusted guide for when it’s time to pursue the ERP migration path.
A key component of our migration strategy is the introduction of automation to the process. Walking Stick product engineers are working to develop software tools to assist in the migration process, focusing on tools that will help to reduce the time and money required for a migration project, while ensuring a quality migration outcome.
The requirements for Walking Stick’s migration automation technology are driven by real-world PeopleSoft® customer experience. Our Customer Advisory Board continues to provide valuable input to the migration methodology team, helping Walking Stick to become the premier provider of PeopleSoft® migration services.
Our SHERPA framework addresses two migration paths:
- Database Platform Migration where an installed PeopleSoft® System is migrated from one database platform to another
- ERP Platform Migration, where a PeopleSoft® installation is migrated to an entirely new ERP platform.
